The Limitaiton of Modern Medicine and The Reappearance of Oriental Regimen

Abstract
The rapid techno-scientific development in human society made human body weak.
Further, human body is getting unbalanced by immoderate brain works on a low physical
tolerance. Human beings have established their own identity by struggling for surviving and
adaptation the various changes of the environment.
The restless efforts for adaptation to such a rapid change in culture and in material
civilization are formidable task for human being and cause the new diseases.
Understanding of modern disease as the abnormality of local organs is to treat the disease
without characterization. The modern medicine tends to focus on a subject with a microscopic
view, it can be regraded as the pros and cons. In orient, the concept of Yin and Yang had
affected on the peoples thoughts and behaviours for thousands of years. Although the
traditional ways seemed to be lost by accepting the proliferating western culture, they still
existed in their subconsciousness.
Although the westem and oriental medicine can not be separated for curing diseases, it
sometimes distinguish the former as main solution and the latter as the substitute or folk
remedies. It is fortunate that many medical doctors and scholars in many countries are trying
to recapture the profound and effective remedies of oriental medicine, however.
Currently, disease caused by infection and malnutrition is decreasing and most of modern
disease are originated from effects of social and environmental circumstances directly or
indirectly. This means that it is necessary to examine the modern diseases by the concept of
Zing and the idea of Yin and Yang.
